A: Nah.
Q. How many people will be accepted?
A: Yes.
Q: I'm 20, can I still join?
A: You can join after your next birthday....
Rule Update: Just kidding. We aren't checking too strictly, but if you're younger than 21 or if you're sensitive to horror, you should be prepared for the content that will be in the group if you want to join. You will still definitely need to be 18 and older though.Q: What species are allowed?
A: As long as the species is humanoid or human-appearing, then it's allowed. Contact mods if you want an exception but don't get your hopes up too high.

Q. I’m shy, can I still join or roleplay?
A: Yeah, we have no activity checks so you can just join and not roleplay! (Bet that a lot of people are just as nervous as you are though.)

You’ll die.
(But it's not permanent.)

If you’ve been in an RP group before, then you should already know the basic rules! These can be summed up as… not being a total jerk! Be civilized!1. Our group recommends that you be 21+, and has potential to have mature, heavy, and explicit themes, such as violence, death, drugs, crime, and gore. Everything is fictional. For any heavy NSFW/explicit content (pornography, extreme gore), we ask you keep it to DMs. Lightly NSFW images are allowed, but please spoiler them and give a content warning. On conversation, we expect some level of maturity when it comes to talking about explicit things. Classroom friendly!Rule Update: We have decided to update this rule so those over 18 can join, as long as you keep in mind that this group has themes that are explicitly mature (not sexually, but in terms of gore).2. Please respect your fellow members and moderators. Civility is required at all times no matter any personal feelings! No bullying or harassment.3. Refrain from any drama. Try to solve your personal problems on your own, like an adult, before coming to a mod. This group is not a place to vent.4. On activity--we do not require you to be active, as this is a fairly casual group. You can just make a character and drop off the face of the earth! Everyone gets super busy (including the mods)!5. Tracing and art theft are illegal. No exceptions. Referencing and meme redraws are okay.

ArchivistYour character is an Archivist. Archivists are basically shadows/copies of existing people from different worlds, recruited by the Director and the various Museum Curators to go on missions to collect Light from different worlds. Once you collect enough Light, the Archivist can become their own real person instead of a copy. Completing missions and collecting Light is entirely up to the character.Notes on Archivists:Archivists bleed black blood in their Shadow forms. Any internals are more like immaterial shadowy-goop than actual internal organs. The appearances of Archivists are more superficial than anything. In order to enter Worlds outside the Museum, Archivists need to "enter" a fake, artificial body. These are always prepared for them by a Curator. If Archivists do not follow the basic rules of a World's setting, they risk being ejected from it unless they have a Substitute Soul. This results in death.Archivists do not need to eat, sleep, or drink in the Museum. They may be psychologically inclined to, and they can still taste them, but it's unneeded. While exploring worlds, they will need to maintain their artificial body's physical needs.WorldWe try to play fast and loose with all the settings available to us. For the most part, you can ask mods (or players who created specific worlds) to give you descriptions or specific details of any settings, but you can generally fill in the blanks within reason however you want unless it's stated otherwise.Every World has a World Order, or the basic rules of each setting. All inhabitants of a World are bound by these rules. The Light causes Distortions and Abnormalities that violate the World Order, causing problems Archivists must solve on their missions.

Curators | Qliphoth

Nahemoth, the DirectorElement: LightThe Director of the Museum is a serious and logical leader, who maintains strict control over what the Curators do. However, she's also the youngest out of all of the Qliphoth, and therefore the most inexperienced.

Belial, ReceptionistElement: NeutralA poetic hedonist, a great admirer of humankind, he is the tranquil observer of the human condition. Like a vulture, Belial is one of the first beings an Archivist will meet on their adventure, as well the very last.

Gha Agsheblah, Curator of TechnologyElement: ElectricityThey've always said two heads were better than one. If that's the case, what about three? The Curator of Technology manages the Museum's shop, catering to the needs of any Archivist. They might not always be the same when one visits, however...

Bugles, Museum WorkersStrange, silent entities that roam the Museum. Bugles are typically seen working around the Museum performing menial tasks and assisting the Curators in their never-ending work. They're a bit shy, and make their homes in the various nooks and crannies of the Museum. They wear different hats depending on who they're working for and what they're doing.

Golohab, Curator of ArtElement: ArtHe always claims to be old, but is he, really? As elderly as he looks, the Curator of Art can still flutter around on his butterfly wings and run the Gallery's entertainment sector, Horai Town. Both lazy and passionate, his love for the preservation of human creation is unparalleled, as his anger at its waste.

WORLD 0: The Museum(Based on the Library from Library of Ruina.)The Museum is an expansive museum that rests in the void between worlds. Its entrance is connected to various worlds, allowing Archivists who don fake shells to travel to different dimensions. The interior can morph based on the desires of its inhabitants. The Museum is currently led by our Director, Nahemoth, and run by the busy Curators who assist her. It exists to gather the corrupting Light that has spread around the world.- from Samael's Dossier

WORLD 1: The City(Based on the City from Library of Ruina. For reference, none of the events of LobCorp or LoR have happened here. )The City is a gigantic, continent-sized urban complex ruled by a mysterious entity named The Head. Divided into 25 districts, it's a densely-populated urban sprawl ruled by their respective "Wing"--big corporation-like organizations. The districts are divided into Nests (for the middle-upper classes), and the Backstreets (for the lower classes). Life can be extremely dangerous here.- from Samael's Dossier
